Dear colleague,

Do teachers need to be creative? What stops us from being creative? How can we and our students become more creative?

There's still time to register for the live-stream of Creativity in teaching and learning: what, why, how?; which takes place at 18.00 UK time today

This highly practical, interactive seminar will help you to discover small changes that can make a big difference to creativity in the classroom. Three speaker sessions will provide successful activities and real-life examples to inspire teaching and learning. Participants will be encouraged to unleash their creative side by writing and drawing throughout the event and we will also be joined by an artist, who will illustrate thoughts and ideas as they arise.

We encourage all attendees, online and in person, to make comments and ask questions. Share ideas and network with fellow English language teaching professionals watching the event around the world:

  • on Twitter using #ELTcreativity
  • on the #ELTcreativity Padlet
  • or using the comments section to the right of the live-stream player on YouTube

In the meantime to help you to get the most out of the live-stream you can:
  • Read extracts from the new publication Creativity in the English language classroom
  • Watch a video about how to be creative in the classroom (to the right of this text) with Alan Maley, co-editor of Creativity in the English language classroom

Enter the #ELTcreativity competition for your chance to win one of three book vouchers!

Do you like to get creative? To enter the competition send us a photo to answer one of the following questions:
  • What inspires you or your learners to be creative?
  • How have your students been creative in the classroom?
Send your photo to @BCseminars
using #ELTcreativity for your chance to win a book voucher and a copy of the new publication Creativity in the English language classroom!

Three photos will be chosen and the winners will be announced at the end of the live stream on Wednesday 24 June.

Teachers from around the globe please submit your questions to make this a truly global discussion about creative learning. Be inspired and join the debate with experts in the field.

We look forward to welcoming you online!

With thanks and kind regards,
