Climbing the Misti

Every now and then a person is gripped by a kind of insane obsession that eventually pushes them to do something they never thought they were capable of. Such is the case for Brenden Allen who, during his time living in Arequipa, found he couldn't seem to ever escape the shadow of El Misti. The fabulous peak, an active volcano nonetheless, rises to a height of 5822 meters (around 19,000 ft) and dominates the Arequipa skyline. Clean Water for the Suburbs would be difficult for most of us to imagine what life would be like without access to clean water. However, it is an unfortunate reality that many people throughout Lima do not have access to potable water, and they lack the resources necessary to buy bottled water. In order to confront this problem, the Rotary Club Lima Sunrise has embarked on a mission to provide simple, long-lasting water filters to the people of the regions without reliable water sources. Marinera For all the World

The Marinera is Peru's most emblematic dance and if you haven't had a chance to see it, you don't know what you're missing! It is an extremely flirtatious, playful dance with a precise series of steps which inevitably entice the viewing audience into spontaneous clapping and boisterous cheers. The Marinera can be found all throughout Peru in various shapes and forms (they even train horses to perform it! Read about it here).
